Thorpe joins Dowie for 2013

Paul Thorpe who races for Midlife Crises Racing will be teaming up for Greg Dowie (Dowie Motorsport) for the 2013 750 Motor Club Classic Hatch season.

Ex-grass track racer Thorpe moved over to circuit racing and Classic Hatch in 2011, Thorpe managed to pick up the novice championship that year before scoring overall race wins in 2012. "I've exceeded all my expectations in my 2 years in Classic Hatch. A great start in 2011, I was Best Novice. Then 2012 was a fantastic year for me, 3rd in championship helped by my two wins." Thorpe who won at Brands Hatch in the wet last year and at Donington Park will be hoping for more this year. "My main aims for this coming year being to maintain my consistency and to stay within the top 5." 

Thorpe will be returning to the championship in his Ford Fiesta XR2. "2013 is going to be an exciting year. Not only am I going to stay in Classic Hatch with my faithful XR2i but I'm joining forces with XR2 driver Greg Dowie. I was fortunate enough to give him some advice last year that improved both our lap times. With my old head and his young shoulders the futures bright, the futures orange!"
